June 2, 2008 -- Charlie Thomas' Drifters, members of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, have been added to the lineup for this years' Southern Shore Music Festival.  Known for such well known hits as Under the Boardwalk, Spanish Harlem, Save the Last Dance for Me, and many more, the CT Drifters will make a great addition to the diverse lineup which includes New Orleans' legend Dr. John, 2008 Grammy nominee David Bromberg & Angel Band, hit songwriter Robert Hazard, Texas singer-songwriter, Terri Hendrix & Lloyd Maines, the youngest blues band in America, Homemade Jamz' Blues Band, and area bands, In High Gear, and WMGK house band, Final Vinyl. Due to doctor's orders Jim Lauderdale has canceled his appearance, as well as all of his May and June concert dates.  The festival takes place at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 21. In addition to great music other festival attractions include a Guitar Hero contest, classic car show, food, arts and craft vendors, free children's activities (pony rides, moon bounce, magic shows and balloonist). Advance tickets are $25 and increase to $35 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
